As announced recently, the research proposal entitled “Explainable AI-based research on formation mechanism and prediction of atmospheric compound pollution under extreme weathers in the Greater Bay Area” (基於可解釋AI的大灣區極端天氣驅動的大氣復合污染形成機理與預測研究) under the Guangdong and Hong Kong Universities “1+1+1” Joint Research Collaboration Scheme has been funded.
The total fund is RMB1,000,000 plus HK$500,000. The project will start on July 1, 2026 and end on June 30, 2029. Prof. Lyu at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and Dr. Li Guanyao at Beijing Normal - Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) are PIs of this project. The team also includes Chair Professor Yang Shuanghua, Chair Professor Wang Qingguo, Prof. Ding Yulong and Dr. Cheng Kuang from the BNBU side, and Prof. Zhuang Yizhou and Prof. Song Jun from the HKBU side.
The Guangdong and Hong Kong Universities “1+1+1” Joint Research Collaboration Scheme is a landmark initiative jointly launched by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province (GDSTC), Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), and Beijing Normal - Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU).
