Prof. LYU Xiaopu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). Prof. Lyu's research primarily focuses on formation mechanisms of photochemical compound air pollution. His work investigates the sources and atmospheric behaviors of volatile organic compounds, regional and global studies on tropospheric ozone pollution, and the sources and formation of organic aerosols. To date, Prof. Lyu has published over 80 scientific papers in internationally renowned journals, serving as the first and corresponding author in notable publications such as One Earth (1), Environmental Science & Technology (4), and Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres (3). His research has been cited over 4,700 times, reflecting an H-index of 38. Prof. Lyu has successfully secured and led numerous competitive research grants totaling over HK$10 million, including NSFC/General Program, NSFC/Youth Science Fund, RGC/GRF (2), RGC/ECS, RGC/CRF (co-host), PPRFSS, Guangdong and Hong Kong Universities “1+1+1” Joint Research Collaboration Scheme, and HKBU’s Rising Star Research Grant. He is actively involved in the scientific community, serving as Standing Committee Member of the Ozone Pollution Control Professional Committee, Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, Appointed Expert at The Innovation Base for Air Quality Science and Management for Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macau Greater Bay Area, and Youth Editorial Board Member in Science Bulletin.
