According to the latest official announcement, Prof. Lyu has received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) General Program for his research proposal, "Mechanistic Research on Coordinated Control of Ozone and Photochemical Secondary Organic Aerosol in the Greater Bay Area." The project, with a total grant of RMB 490,000, will be conducted from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2029.

This research focuses on photochemical secondary organic aerosol (SOA), a significant component of fine particulate matter (PM2.5), and investigates the complex relationship between photochemical SOA and ozone (O3), as well as their sensitivities to shared precursors and environmental conditions. The project is structured around three key scientific questions:
• (i) What are the most effective methods to identify photochemical SOA?
• (ii) Can the ambient levels of photochemical SOA and O3 be attributed solely to conventional air pollution sources and precursors?
• (iii) What are the dominant mechanisms driving the interactions between photochemical SOA and O3?
